SFist: The San Francisco-New York Neighborhood Comparison Table

Bay Area blogger Overstated has put together his list of what New York neighborhoods correspond to which San Francisco ones. Check out his list, and let the great debates begin!

Here's some calls we agree with:
--Totally Williamsburg is the Mission. Last time we were on Bedford Avenue, honest to God we thought we'd end up at Luna Park for brunch.
--Pac Heights and Noe Valley absolutely are the Upper East and Upper West Sides. All the old money lives in Pac Heights, and there's nothing to do or to eat in Noe Valley either.

SF versus NYC neighborhoods? If this one can't get some conversations going over dinner at Masa's, I don't know what will!

abc7news.com: Site Matches Drivers With Parking Spots

Feb. 5 - KGO - Is it possible that a single new idea for matching people to parking places would actually increase parking in parking poor San Francisco. A new Web site is all about trying to do that.

School teacher Brooke Nagel lives in San Francisco and works in San Jose. At night, she usually arrives in her Haight-Ashbury neighborhood around 7 or 7:30, but it's later than that before she's in her apartment. Here, parking is a worse curse than traffic.

You have to live in, and own a car in San Francisco to understand just how horrible the parking situation is in a City where official policy is to drive citiens onto public transit whether they want to go or not.

That's not a big drop, but it is a drop. And when was the last time that happened?
