Fooling Most of the Media All of the Time - Or Maybe They Aren't Fooled At All

Account of Iraq War Protestor's Meeting With Bush Draws Scrutiny

Drudge quoted Sheehan saying at that time about Bush, "I now know he's sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis. I know he's sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he's a man of faith."

He also noted that Sheehan had taken comfort from meeting. "That was the gift the president gave us, the gift of happiness, of being together," Sheehan said, referring to the benefit to her family.

In other words, she's a liar pushing her own - or somebody's - anti-Bush agenda. I wonder who's paying her bills while she sits down there in Texas? moveon.org?

Hmm. As it turns out, Ms. Sheehan is supported by an anti-war, anti-Bush organization she created, called Gold Star Families for Peace. Funding for this political entity is murky. I'm still looking.

Check out the org's history and activities here. It's quite obvious this is no poor, innocent, lonely, bereaved mom. She is a professional organizer dedicated to the advancement of leftist anti-American and anti-war agendas. So it's obvious why the liberal mainstream media loves her.

The action is non stop, just as Bill advertised! The ending was an even bigger suprise than I could imagine. If you like mystery thrillers, you will like this book.

Damn good yarn.

Look for connections between Michael Moore and Gold Star. Both Lila Lipscomb and Sheehan are professional grieving mothers who are personal friends of Moore and are working together in this group.

Yes, of course. She's a "professional organizer" who is clearly lying. Why don't you read the original article selectively cribbed by Drudge.

(begin)

But as their meeting with the president approached, the family was faced with a dilemma as to what to say when faced with Casey's commander-in-chief.

"We haven't been happy with the way the war has been handled," Cindy said. "The president has changed his reasons for being over there every time a reason is proven false or an objective reached."

The 10 minutes of face time with the president could have given the family a chance to vent their frustrations or ask Bush some of the difficult questions they have been asking themselves, such as whether Casey's sacrifice would make the world a safer place.

But in the end, the family decided against such talk, deferring to how they believed Casey would have wanted them to act. In addition, Pat noted that Bush wasn't stumping for votes or trying to gain a political edge for the upcoming election.

"We have a lot of respect for the office of the president, and I have a new respect for him because he was sincere and he didn't have to take the time to meet with us," Pat said.

Sincerity was something Cindy had hoped to find in the meeting. Shortly after Casey died, Bush sent the family a form letter expressing his condolences, and Cindy said she felt it was an impersonal gesture.

"I now know he's sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis," Cindy said after their meeting. "I know he's sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he's a man of faith."

The meeting didn't last long, but in their time with Bush, Cindy spoke about Casey and asked the president to make her son's sacrifice count for something. They also spoke of their faith.

(snip)

So in the immediate aftermath of meeting the President, trying to conduct themselves in a way that they felt would honor their dead son, the family mustered up three good sentences to say about Bush. Wow... damning stuff that.

She disagrees with you, and she thinks the President is a liar. She and her family have felt this way for quite a while. She clears up any misunderstanding that you may have of her opinions here:

"Another big story that was going on today was about my first meeting with Bush in June of 2004. For you all I would like to clarify a few things. First of all, I did meet with George, and that is not a secret. I have written about it and been interviewed about it. I will stand by my recounting of the meeting. His behavior was rude and inappropriate. My behavior in June of 2004 and is irrelevant to what is going on in 2005. I was in deep shock and deep grief. The grief is still there, but the shock has worn off and the deep anger has set in. And to remind everybody, a few things have happened since June of 2004: The 9/11 commission report; the Senate Intelligence report; the Duelfer WMD report; and most damaging and criminal: the Downing Street Memos. The VERY LAST THING I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS IS: Why do the right wing media so assiduously scrutinize the words of a grief filled mother and ignore the words of a lying president?"

But hey... if you think you can score political points by shitting on Cindy Sheehan, knock yourselves out.

YGB, your post makes the point:

"...and I have a new respect for him because he was sincere and he didn't have to take the time to meet with us," Pat said."

"His behavior was rude and inappropriate."

Sheehan may have always oppossed the war, pres. whatever, but she is a liar.

So in other words, now she believes lefty crap like the hype about that lame memo so she has changed her attitude?

Like this "We haven't been happy with the way the war has been handled," Cindy said. "The president has changed his reasons for being over there every time a reason is proven false or an objective reached."

Ummmm, no. He hasn't changed his reasons, they were all presented before. Are we really going to have to have that conversation again? I am so sick of doing and watching wack-a-mole with nitwit, lefty conspiracy crap.

Also, these reports: The 9/11 commission report; the Senate Intelligence report; the Duelfer WMD report pretty much backed up what Bush had said. She's getting mis-and dis-information and it's not a pretty sight.

What's this?

The Daily Drudge Dupe?

We all know you have no shame. But don't you have the self awareness required to be embarrassed?

Guess not.
