In truth, they probably didn't have lofts like these back in the 'Fifties. But they do now.

Wow! I always thought I hated "modern" architecture and furniture, when I was growing up with it. ;-) (My mom and dad proclaimed a dislike of pretty much everything to do with the '60s, yet they had a Danish Modern dining room set, some of those flying-saucer-shaped hanging lamps, etc., etc...) But this picture makes it look inviting and comfortable, not cold and harsh. I like the dining chairs, even though they look a little like school furniture!
