If You Are, Or Intend to Be, a California Gun Owner

From an NRA blastmail this morning:

California Gun Owners Must Work to STOP SB53 Ammo Sales Restrictions/Registration and AB1014 Gun violence Restraining Orders

Senator Lois Wolk is a pivotal vote on Senate Bill 53 and Assembly Bill 1014, which could come up for a vote at any time.  Senator Wolk needs to respectfully hear from California’s gun owners and sportsmen that she MUST OPPOSE SB 53 and AB 1014.

Your calls, e-mails and faxes are working!!  SB 53 and AB 1014 have been stalled in the legislature for days waiting for a vote.  Legislators have admitted receiving tens of thousands of e-mails OPPOSING SB 53 and AB 1014.

The war over SB 53 has heated up in Sacramento, anti-gun advocates are attempting to split gun owners by trying to buy the support of hunters.  The newest amended version of SB 53 will continue to BAN the mail and internet sales of ammunition to firearms owners in California, unless you have a hunting license.  Supporters of SB 53 think that they can pretend to be “pro- hunting” while they are still violating the rights of firearms owners statewide.

Because of your efforts to OPPOSE SB 53, the supporters of SB 53 are desperately trying to SAVE AND PASS SB 53 by watering it down to benefit of select group of gun owners.  You can be sure that if SB 53 is enacted this year, they will be back in 2015 to pass the full agenda of restricting ammunition sales to the rest of the law-abiding firearms owners in California.

SB 53 is not the only bill that gun owners need to be concerned about.  AB 1014, gun violence restraining orders, would allow persons to file a restraining order against YOU and strip away your gun rights if they think you might be a threat at some future time.

Contact Senator Wolk TODAY at tell her that hunters and sportsmen do not support ammunition sales restrictions and registration or allowing your gun rights to be stripped away with restraining orders.  Senator Wolk can be reached at (916) 651-4003 by fax at (916) 651-4903 and by e-mail at senator.wolk@senate.ca.gov.

I emailed.  If you live in California and support the Second Amendment, you might consider doing likewise.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.
