Which Damages Liberty More? Drugs, Or the War On Them?

Larishka sniffs 86.000 dollars from car heading of a ferry to Uruguay — MercoPress

The passenger was carrying 6,500 in a hold-all pack and was about to leave the Buquebus ferry terminal in Buenos Aires for Colonia, on the other side of the Río de la Plata, when Larishka turned her attention towards the car engine.

AFIP agents followed up the dog’s hint, and discovered a further 86,500 dollars in the vehicle’s air filter, just 15 minutes before the boat was due to leave the terminal.

As a result, the revenue agency suspended the passenger’s CUIT (self-employed status) tax number, prepared a Suspicious Operation Report for the Financial Irregularities Unit and requested data from Uruguayan authorities, to determine if the suspect held investments or deposits in the neighboring country that had not been declared.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.
