Am I Cynical? Nope, Realistic. It Really Is Corruption All the Way Down

I would add that a Congress, and a Democratic Party, that doesn’t understand the dangers to the republic and ultimately to themselves and their power as a legislative body is also a huge part of the problem.

Actually, they understand that there is very little danger to themselves. The highest hurdle is in getting elected in the first place. Once in office, a politician can use the powers of that office in corrupt ways to trade for money, favors, and support in his reelection bid. Nobody, Obama included, is out to endanger anybody in the other branches. They just want to make sure they all dance to the same socialist tune, and pay the same authoritarian piper, while presenting the Potemkin Village version of a democratic republic that represents the will of the people.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.
