Does Obama WANT to Get Impeached? | National Review Online

Of course.  He knows it’s unlikely, but he believes that if it did happen, it would save his ass the same way it did BJ’s.

Of course the GOP thinks the same thing, so it’s not going to happen.  However, the GOP should zero out the entire budget of every agency responsible for enforcing these unconstitutional decrees, including that of the White House staff.

The average American imbecile will have no idea what that means, and so will be much less upset about it.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. I was about to do something on this from Friday, but I’ll put it here instead:

    Battle-Space Preparation: Just in case…

White House: GOP May Try to Impeach

A top White House adviser said on Friday Republicans might try to impeach President Barack Obama over his go-it-alone immigration strategy, as Obama prepared to talk about the U.S. border crisis with Central American presidents.

Dan Pfeiffer, one of Obama’s longest-serving advisers, told reporters that the executive actions Obama will approve at the end of the summer aimed at tackling illegal immigration will likely generate ire from Republicans who have blocked comprehensive immigration legislation.

When you read the whole thing, it comes through, loud and clear, that this is a “get the our story out there first” move:

“The president acting on immigration reform will certainly up the likelihood that they would contemplate impeachment,” he said. He said it would be “foolish to discount the possibility” that Republicans will at least consider it. (emphasis added)

Exactly – “Ah, those silly-assed Rethuglicans, they’re likely to do anything, no matter how stoopid, to try to take down Da Emperor, ya know? But – what can ya do, really?…”

(This is referencing, of course, the same item that NRO partially quoted that was the basis for the item you linked – but, naturally enough, the NRO guy, Lowry, saw it entirely in a different light – while expressing, pretty much, the same thing you did: that such a GOP attempt at impeachment would be a real useful thing for Barky & Co., and therefore bad news for the Rethuglicans.)
