GOP Senate candidate inches ahead in Colorado as Obama approval tumbles | National Politics | Columbus Ledger Enquirer

Add another Senate race to the tossup list: Colorado.

A new Quinnipiac University poll shows Sen. Mark Udall, a Democrat, trailing Rep. Cory Gardner, a Republican, by 2 percentage points, 44-42 percent. By a 49-40 margin, voters say Udall does not deserve to be re-elected.

Republicans jazzed over poll showing Beauprez in tie with Hickenlooper – The Denver Post

A new poll that shows former Congressman Bob Beauprez up by 1 percentage point over Gov. John Hickenlooper has Republicans believing they can wrest the Colorado governor’s office from Democrats in November.

I know that conventional wisdom says that both Gardener and Beauprez have shots, but I’ll believe it when I see them actually sworn into office.  I’ve been disappointed too often with these close races, which generally seem to end up close enough for the Democrats to steal.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.
