A rocket scientist at Oxford University is designing better cookware

What do rocket scientists do in their spare time? Design cookware, apparently. A Oxford University professor has created a new kind of saucepan that heats up 30-percent faster than traditional cookware. He calls it “Flare,” and it borrows from the same principals used to efficiently transfer and distribute heat in jet engines.

This looks interesting.  I’d like to have one in a classic single-handle chef’s pan format.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. I was about to post on this. Oh, well, I snoozed, I loozed.

(Literally snoozed: I just woke up after having passed out in my office. Haven’t been sleeping enough. This multiple jobs crap isn’t as easy as it was when I was in my 20s. Or 30s. Or 40s.)
