The best way to lose weight? A diet filled with protein: Eating fish, eggs and meat every day is easiest way to stay slim

Instead of counting calories, those seeking to stay slim are better off enjoying a protein rich diet and eating fish, eggs and meat, scientists have found.

Because of the way the human body prioritises protein over carbohydrates and fat, those with a diet low in protein are likely to gorge on these other food groups to reach the target protein level.

Over the past 60 years the proportion of protein in Western diets has dropped, and researchers suggest this could account for soaring levels of obesity.

Gee, if only someone had discovered this a few decades ago. Especially, if the non-scientists who make food pyramids had discovered this a few decades ago. Well, it’s OK. It’s not like anyone was ever hurt by the advice to load up on carbs, right?

  1. …I wonder if it will take 40 years to finally discredit global warmening?

    Glowball warmering/coolering/man-caused-changening acolytes (aka: pinheads) are nothing if not persistent – they’re kind of like other sorts of religious fanatics, like Islamofascists, in that way – and, when it comes to “junk science”, there’s a terrible lot of “just folks” who find it sooo-o much easier to just believe than it is to actually think and verify, so…I’d say about twice that – i.e., ’bout 80 years – might be a better estimate.

    And that might even be sort of optimistic, y’know?
