Lower vitamin D level in blood linked to higher premature death rate — ScienceDaily

Researchers at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine have found that persons with lower blood levels of vitamin D were twice as likely to die prematurely as people with higher blood levels of vitamin D.

I take 10,000 IU of Vitamin D3 (oil capsules) a day.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. If you are taking D that you also get K2. D will increase the amount of calcium deposited, which is good for teeth and bones, and not so good in your heart and arteries. K2 seems to control where the calcium gets deposited. Naturally K2 is found in heart (and natto, if you need a vegetarian source). If you are like most Americans and eschew organ meat you need to supplement K2. You can now find D+K2 at Amazon, though it’s cheaper to buy them separately.
