“I think the same questions could be asked of those who supported the Iraq War,” Paul said. “You know, were they right in their predictions? Were there weapons of mass destruction there?
Make up your freaking minds, people.
It is now being reported that ISIL (ISIS) has taken control of one of Saddam Hussein’s largest and most lethal mega-WMD facilities in Al Muthanna, Iraq. Though it was bombed and inspected, much of it is still intact and there is the real possibility that chemical stores may still exist, now in the hands on terrorists.
The left is choking on their WMD narrative.
There weren’t any WMDs in Iraq, they tell us. Bush lied, people died, they shriek hysterically.
Now: We have to do something about ISIL, because they’ve captured Saddam’s WMDs!
None of the usual lefty outlets are pointing out the cognitive dissonance in this narrative: One: There were no WMDs in Saddam’s Iraq at the time of the Bush invasion. Two: ISIL just captured Saddam’s WMDs. Be very afraid. Three: Of course these WMDs aren’t really, you know, WMDs. The UN said so. Four: But they are very, very dangerous, and now they are in the hands of a bunch of barbarian savage Muslim terrorists.
Um…wasn’t that supposedly why we went into Iraq in the first place? At least one of the major reasons for doing so?
Logic and consistency are hard. For progressives, at least.
