Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday that the Department of Justice doesn’t have any plans to investigate allegations that veterans placed on secret waiting lists at VA hospitals died while waiting for care.
“Well, obviously these reports if they’re true are unacceptable, and the allegations are being taken very seriously by the administration. But I don’t have any announcements at this time with regard to anything that the Justice Department is doing,” Holder told reporters at a press conference.
Anybody under fifty probably doesn’t really remember how Richard Nixon was excoriated in every liberal venue for using his administrative departments to “stonewall” the investigations into the Watergate (and other ) scandals under his administration.
But these same venues utter not one single peep about Obama doing exactly the same thing, but on a far wider and grander scale.
Of course that’s not a surprise. What is a surprise is that the Republicans seem content to let him get away with it. Just as Europe left its best DNA on the battlefields of WW I and WW II, the GOP did likewise on the battlefield of the Clinton presidency.
