The Smartphone Wars: Nokia gives it up for Microsoft
I’m put in mind of the wave of mergers in the 1980s among mainframe computer manufacturers, what we called at the time “dinosaurs mating”. Those didn’t make any sense either; when you merge two huge, doomed, inefficient thunder-lizards together you don’t tend to get a mammal.
Maybe they intend to make up unit loss on volume….
I actually don’t get the hate for Windows Phone. It’s been decent to use since at least version 5. If people want to hate on the walled garden, well, that’s fine, but then they should hate the Apple devices too.
I don’t think WP is the problem here. I think it’s what M$ had done with WP (and to a lesser extent, Nokia) that has endangered the OS.
