Immigration Reform I Could Support

How convenient is FISA for Big Brother? | Questions and Observations

Now there are those who will point out, and rightfully so, that the 4th Amendment only applies to American citizens.

Well, those people would not include the Obama administration:

My immigration reform – Maggie’s Farm

I am only speaking for myself, not for all on the commune here. My opinion is that we have immigration laws for a reason. If you are here illegally, it should be illegal for you to have a job or to even be here. I don’t care whether you are Mexican or Bulgarian or Canadian. The US should enforce its immigration laws. What is “broken” about US immigration is absence of enforcement.

There are legal paths to become an American citizen. First, you apply for a green card. Then we decide whether you would add value to the country in some way that Americans can’t. It usually takes years.

Otherwise, fix your own country so it’s more like ours. America does not need more people. We have too many losers already.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.
