How the Graham-Cracker Crumbles

Lindsey Graham faces down primary challenge – Jonathan Martin –

Yet a year out from his primary, Graham is in surprisingly good shape. He had over $5.4 million in the bank at the end of March, second only to Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell among senators up in 2014, and his approval ratings remain solid if not spectacular. What’s more, the intensity on immigration has receded here and a set of issues has arisen that have benefited the incumbent.

This was published on May 9, 2013. Six weeks later, the scenery may have shifted a bit.

The money and the polls don’t bother me. Long time RINO senator from Indiana, Dick Lugar, had a huge war chest and all the insider connections that came with being a multi-term Senator, and he went down in the primary.

We just need to find a good candidate and finance him well enough to get the word out. Graham-Cracker will crumble.

Frankly, I hope we go after McConnell, too, not to mention Lamar Alexander in Tennessee, and John Cornyn in Texas.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.
