Communism Will Certainly Work – All It Needs Is to Be Properly Implemented

Instapundit » Blog Archive » BLOOMBERG’S NEW YORK: A Preserve Of The One Percent. “The low and middle classes are being priced …

The result is a skyrocketing homeless population and a threat of a mass exodus to other cities and states. . . . For all the fretting by city officials about this exodus, there doesn’t seem to be any acknowledgement that the city’s taxes and job-killing policies may also have something to do with it. New York will always have a high concentration of wealthy people who can afford whatever the housing market throws at them. But as in California, New York’s blue policies have contributed to the creation of a city where increasingly only the very wealthy can afford to live.”

You’re welcome to move here, so long as you don’t start agitating for the same policies that drove you out.

Unfortunately, they always do exactly that. The reason for this is simple: The essense of the left is a complete inability to take responsibility for anything. In fact, it actively seeks ways to move responsibility somewhere, anywhere, else.

Thus it is simply impossible for a leftist to think that they and their policies might have been responsible for the collapse of their previous locales and the necessity of relocating to a new one.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. It's easy to see the left's affinity to stone age Arab tribal culture: they think the same way. Both can't conceive of the possibility that their own actions had anything to do with their predicament, i.e., failure to understand cause and effect and it's somebody else's fault. I'm ready to equate socialism with ancient, pre-civilization tribalism. Will somebody explain to me why it's not the same thing?

  2. Pre-civilized tribesmen reflexively blame evil spirits when things go wrong.

Socialists reflexively blame evil Republicans when things go wrong.

(Republicans, George Bush, TEA Partiers, Jews, whatever. Key point is, it's people breaking things, not intangible godlings.)
