GOP = Gutless Old Pussies

Yesterday I advised the GOP thusly:

Become the Party not just of No, but the Party of Hell, No! Your task is not to propose compromises, or “better bills” or “new solutions” or anything else except “Stop. Not one thing more.”

Nothing the Democrats will propose will do anything other than cost money, jobs, liberty, or all three. America did not understand what it was doing when it placed all power in the hands of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Barack Obama. It is plain that America now regrets that choice. So the GOP’s task is to stop the bleeding until American can choose again in six months.

So: No cap-and-trade, no “immigration reform” shamnesty, no new financial regulation schemes, no new programs big or small, nothing. Especially nothing from you. You’ll have your hands full enough with the job of halting the Democrat steamroller.

So what do I discover just a couple of hours ago? This:

BBC News – US Republicans allow Senate financial reform debate

US Republicans allow Senate financial reform debate

Yup, that’s the way to stop’em, GOP.

Of course the Mainly Socialist Media is playing it as a big victory for Obama.

What a bunch of gutless pussies.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. I saw somewhere on television tonight that some started breaking from holding firm, which is what the Maine chicks are good at doing, and they’re not alone. This is so damnably typical of Senate Republicans. The public began turning their way, but a timed poll came out to seal the dictatorial takeover of a multi-trillion dollar industry, and that was enough.

The real problem is that gutless Mitch McConnell always prefers to hide the guilty Republicans and concedes the entire game. A recorded vote on the legislation which remains almost entirely unread by senators would have helped some of us wipe out the worst of the worst RINOs in primaries, rather than just letting the Democrat win in November.

The BBC piece says: “Sen Shelby said he had been assured that the Democrats would consider Republican amendments during the debate.” That’s rich. Every Democrat in the Senate also swore an oath to uphold the Constitution, as did Obama. So far, about the only provision they haven’t violated in the last 15 months is the 3rd amendment’s outlawing quartering soldiers in Americans’ homes, unless you see the Army Corps of Engineers’ violations of property rights as getting in the vicinity.

This is a revenue bill, by the way, which means it has to originate in the House. Hardy har. (Normally they weasel out of that by passing a variation in the House and then passing a compromise in both chambers.)

  2. This kind of crap is precisely why I intend to pursue a course of voting against all incumbents, of whatever party (or even non-party) affiliation…

“Professional” politicians: Say whatever seems appropriate – then, cut the deal.

Chuck ’em all out – and keep on chuckin’, until they start operating on acceptable principle, instead of “whatever works (to maintain the log-rolling status quo)”.

A suggested legal theory to protest the installation of computer spyware by government agents was that it violates the 3rd Amendment. I don’t know if the theory has ever been used in a trial.
