An Important Announcement From The Ministry Of Truth: Obama Always Wanted To Leave Troops In Iraq

Old History is a little bit different.

THE PRESIDENT: Good afternoon, everybody. As a candidate for President, I pledged to bring the war in Iraq to a responsible end — for the sake of our national security and to strengthen American leadership around the world. After taking office, I announced a new strategy that would end our combat mission in Iraq and remove all of our troops by the end of 2011.

Yeah, I see that happen a lot:

White House: July 2011 Afghanistan Withdrawal “Not-Negotiable”

Oh and as for the “As you saw with Iraq, when the president makes a commitment, he keeps it” bit? Screw you Obama. You inherited all of that (time lines and everything) from Bush. Now you guys are to demure to talk about Bush? Punks.

I guess we’re now supposed to shovel all that stuff about “Bush time lines and everything) down the memory hole, because it’s far more important to pretend that Obama dreamed them up all on his own (and against the will of the American people, too).

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.
