Poll: Christie trails Clinton in New Jersey – My9 New Jersey

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) – Gov. Chris Christie trails former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton among New Jersey voters surveyed in a poll about the 2016 presidential race.

The Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday shows Clinton leading the Republican governor 50 to 42 percent. Both are considering 2016 runs but haven’t committed.

The poll also shows Clinton with strong support among women New Jersey voters surveyed. Men are divided. Clinton has a slight edge among independent voters.

Why is this so shocking?  Contrary to the RINO Old Time Religion, real lefty Democrats generally stomp sorta lefty RINOs, especially in generally liberal states.  I mean, if leftism is what you want, why settle for a pale imitation when you can have the real thing?

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. Just in case someone missed the implications, Christie would lose his home state against The Hildebeast.

Has any candidate lost their home state and not been trounced unmercifully in the electoral college, let alone win anything?

  2. Technically, Bush Sr. lost Mass in 1988 but he was resident in Texas at the state so Texas was his home state. So the odds are really long against someone who can’t carry the State most associated with that candidate. Where was Christie born, you ask? Why, he was born and is now resident in… New Jersey!

btw Romney was one of the few to lose his home state and his birth state. Still like his chances in 2016? Still like Christie in 2016? We could go for two in a row!

  3. Christie won’t have the advantages of a MSM on his side or a voter fraud machine that is more efficient than ever. Gore just proves it wasn’t close enough to steal. Almost close enough.

    • I am amused that it was his losing Tennessee, not Florida, that cost him the presidency. Had he managed to carry the state where he’d been both a 3 term congresscritter and a 1 term senator, and where his father had been a 7 term congresscritter and 3 term senator, there would have been no need to attempt the Florida steal.
