So the fear is that this Coburn/Cuellar “compromise measure” on improving the Wilberforce Act (7 days for hearing, three days for judge to decide) will invite a full House-Senate conference to negotiate differences, and this last mechanism will permit the amnestias to launch a full-spectrum Comprehensive Piece of Shit on both houses of Congress.
I don’t think they’ll do that, for a couple of reasons.
1, they have to at least be smart enough to know the base is furious over Mississippi. Would they dare to strike again while the base is angry?
Yes, of course they would. They knew Mississippi would enrage their base as well. Did that stop them?
The Gentry GOP is learning the lessons the Democrats have taught for decades: Never back down, double down. Fight to the death for what you want. Ruthlessly crush any opposition.
Of course the Democrats aim at the Republicans, while the Republicans aim at their own base. Anyway, as I’ve been warning you, Boehner will find a way to pass scamnest with mostly Democrat votes before the election this year. This is likely going to be his vehicle.
