‘Clinton: the Musical’ comes to New York – Kendall Breitman – POLITICO.com

The Clinton family has taken the center stage in politics, and in July an adaption of the former first family will take center stage in musical theater.

“Clinton: The Musical” will make its U.S. debut in New York City’s New York Musical Theater Festival this summer, from July 18-25.

“It’s hard enough being president by yourself. Bill Clinton’s problem is that there are two of him. Literally,” the show’s description reads. “Clinton follows two Bill Clintons and Hillary on their quest to save their presidency, change America and prove that ‘politics is show business for ugly people.’”

The Clintons will be played by Karl Kenzler, who plays W.J. Clinton, Duke Lafoon, who plays “Billy” Clinton and Alet Taylor, who plays Hillary Rodham Clinton.

A musical?  Do you think the Monica character will sing something while she masturbates herself with one of BJ’s soggy cigars for his viewing pleasure?

I might actually pay to see that.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. Musical comedy?…

“Clinton: The Musical” will make its U.S. debut in New York City’s New York Musical Theater Festival this summer, from July 18-25.

    A mercifully-short run…

“Clinton follows two Bill Clintons and Hillary on their quest to save their presidency, change America and prove that ‘politics is show business for ugly people.’

Ah – a musical tragedy, then – tricky genre, not often done…

The play will be showcased at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theater at the Pershing Square Signature Center and will feature characters such as Newt Gingrich and Monica Lewinsky. Tickets are $25.

    Can you say: Off-off-off Broadway?…betcha can…

Price seems about right, though. Hey, you never know – they might even get ol’ Newt to do a “guest appearance”, as himself, of course…

Wonder who they’ll get to play Socks, the cat?

  2. Special Guest Appearances: James Carville performing Snake Man by the Doobie Brothers.

George Stephanopoulos performs Randy Newman’s Short People.

The first act ends with a medley: Devil With the Blue Dress On/Tube Snake Boogie/Pearl Necklace/Star Star (Mitch Ryder/ZZ Top/ZZ Top/The Rolling Stones)
