Nevada Cattle Rancher Wins ‘Range War’ With Federal Government – ABC News

A Nevada cattle rancher appears to have won his week-long battle with the federal government over a controversial cattle roundup that had led to the arrest of several protesters.

Cliven Bundy went head to head with the Bureau of Land Management over the removal of hundreds of his cattle from federal land, where the government said they were grazing illegally.

I wouldn’t declare victory just yet.  The jackboots will back off, temporarily cheated of their prey, and they will wait until they think the harsh glare of unfavorable publicity has died down.  Then they’ll be back to try again.

The feds are never defeated in their rapacious quest to strip the American peasant to his very bones.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

    • Yeah, right after the EPA discovers his ranch is a protected wetlands, he’s been violating OSHA safety rules, and he’s been maltreating his cattle (which the FDA will say are not fit for human consumption and therefore cannot be sold).
