Poll: 55% of Americans under age 35 oppose sanctions on Russia « Hot

As usual, Allahpundit belches a hurricane of hot gas – maybe this, maybe that, and here’s several irrelevant polls just to confuse the issue further – and after dancing all around his maypole tree, misses entirely the forest surrounding that tree, to wit:

Millennials don’t trust the Ruling Party/Ruling Class not to get us embroiled in another no-win bloody conflict in the ass-end of nowhere, ostensibly for the highest-minded of reasons, like bringing democracy to the savages, or defending the savages from even bigger savages – because they know damned well who will end up doing the bloodshedding.

They’re not interested.  And if I were them, I wouldn’t be, either.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. I’d like to see a reinstatement of the military draft, with a few key changes:

    - Age range for draftees is 45-65.
    - Women are included as well as men.
    - No deferments or exemptions for any reason.

Alternatively, every one of every politician’s and bureaucrat’s descendants aged 17-25 is to be drafted and placed in combat branches of the units traditionally first sent to wars and other crises. They are to be drafted the day that the pol or crat takes position and must remain until a year after he leaves.

Either way, I’m pretty sure we’d see a lot less sticking the American military in where US national interests are not served.
