We have been getting many questions about petitions to close the range or drastically reduce our noise and hours, and one to keep us open. We at the Club did not initiate any of these petitions but here are the URL’s if you are interested in looking at or participating in them.

Petition to keep Chabot Gun Club OPEN:

Petition to effectively CLOSE the range or STOP/REDUCE Chabot Gun Club’s SOUND and/or HOURS:

John M. Maunder, Rangemaster,

According to a news report I heard on the morning TV news, only 300 signatures are needed to push the park commission to consider closing the park, while 4000 are needed from supporters of keeping it open.

Oddly enough, both petitions are beinig hosted at, where the pro petition is noted thusly:

MoveOn Petitions – Chabot Gun Club-Safe and valuable community resource

MoveOn volunteers reviewed this petition and determined that it may not reflect MoveOn members’ progressive values. MoveOn will not promote the petition beyond hosting it on our site. Click here if you think MoveOn should support this petition.

The pro-petition has more than 3000 signatures, while the anti-petition has less than 300.

You can make a difference, and blow up a progtard skull in the process.  Go and sign the petition to keep the Chabot Gun Range for gunners in the San Francisco Bay region.  Here’s that link again:  KEEP THE CHABOT GUN RANGE OPEN.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. Duly signed, sealed and delivered – I also did their little “survey” in favor of them (Moron.Org) supporting the petition that’s in favor of keeping the range, and I did the Fakebook connection to ask a bunch of folks there to sign the petition in favor, as well.

I was apparently number 3,311 to sign the favorable petition -

Democracy is a wunnerful thing, innit?

Now, so long as Moron.Org doesn’t “accidentally misplace” the petition, once the count reaches 4,000+…
