Spengler » Ukraine Is Hopeless … but Not Serious

It’s obvious that the Ukrainians have no faith in their democratic institutions, having staged a coup against a democratically elected president. In that case, the next step is constitutional reform. The existing system has broken down and the people should choose a new one.

Huh.  Why does that sound familiar?

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. I am certainly not a Ukranian constitutional scholar but isn’t what their Parliament did similiar to the US Congress impeaching, convicting and removing POTUS? Why is this necessarily an earth shattering moment for some people. A coup, a coup cried cried Chicken Littlesky.
