had to share this with you –
My bride and I decided to sign up for the Government’s “TSA precheck” system, as we both travel alot. Putting aside the 1930′s Germany feel of the whole thing, including photo and fingerprinting, and the $85.00 fee per person, good for 5 years, she relayed her co-workers incident:
Middle aged American-born, high-level government worker, with top secret clearance, and international traveller on official US business. He goes thru the “Precheck” including the Foreign Travel part (More money, longer wait, and face to face interview). Approved.
Goes to travel overseas, goes thru the Precheck lane, and somewhere between precheck and his destination he is discovered to be carrying a ham sandwich.
He’s lost all precheck status, now permanently ineligible, and is on the ‘watch list’ required to be frisked every time thru TSA screening. Every time. Because of a ham sandwich.
The country is in the very best of hands.

The pathetic thing about all this is that nobody finds it hard to believe at all.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.
