Congressional Budget Office sends death blow to ObamaCare | New York Post

The Affordable Care Act, a?k?a ObamaCare, became law almost four years ago. It became operational last Oct. 1. Yesterday, Feb. 4, 2014, the ACA may well have been dealt its death blow.

The Congressional Budget Office released a major study of the government’s budget and its effect on the overall economy over the next 10 years. In dull bureaucratic language, it delivers a devastating analysis of the inefficiencies, ineffectualities and problematic social costs of ObamaCare.

The one-two punch: Virtually as many Americans will lack health coverage in 10 years as before the law was passed — but 2 million fewer will be working than if the law hadn’t passed.

The Pod is smoking that wacky shit Tony Scalia perverts the Constitution in order to keep illegal again.

I mean, you’d almost think he believes that just because a federal law squanders taxpayer money like water while producing results precisely the opposite of those purportedly intended, those are reasons the law will be repealed.

Does the Pod believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, and rational, responsible, principled Constitutional government, too?

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. I’m getting tired of these “death blow” articles. Is it dead yet? No. That means it wasn’t a death blow.

There’s only one way Obamacare dies, and it requires that liberty-minded politicians control both houses of Congress and the White House. Unless you can show that some event has made such an outcome inevitable, it isn’t a death blow.

The more likely outcome of the law’s growing unpopularity is an eventual ‘fix’ which will leave us with an equally vile statist hash with the fingerprints of both parties on it.

    • You go ahead and hope for liberty-minded politicians controlling both houses of Congress and the White House. Work for it. I wish you all the best.

I’ll keep working for economic collapse.* Once the nation is too poor to afford to pay for a large parasite class, a lot of this dross will go away. And if a lot of stupid people die in the transition, that’s fine with me.

      * I admit that my tiny efforts pale in comparison with the devastation the progressives stupid communists are wrecking upon the American economy.

  2. I didn’t say I was hoping for it; I just said it was the only way Obamacare would die. I suppose there was an implied “die without taking the country with it” clause. I think the collapse scenario is by far more likely. We’re too far down the road to turn back without a load of deep hurting.

    • That’s fine. I wasn’t being sarcastic when I said I wished you the best in getting a majority of non-statist-thieves in office. I don’t think it’s likely, but it’s a lot more palatable than collapse. (Unless you want millions of stupid people to die. I can’t remember if I do or not. I’d been alternating between “psychopathic mass-murderer” and “nice guy who wants the best for humanity”, but I lost track of which was the odd-numbered-day personality and which the even-.)

      • But, but, …

In my view, “nice guy who wants the best for humanity”, also includes the “millions of stupid people … die” scenario.

        Humanity as a whole improves.

As someone once said, stupidity should hurt.

        • Frankly, stupidity should be terminal after the third decade of life.

Unfortunately, stupidity is going to be terminal for more than the stupid, it is going to take some of the rest of us with it. But, shit, in the grand ebb and flow of the human tide, I can live with terminal, so long as I can see the idiotic assholes dying with me.

Unfortunately, if I started mentioning names, the not-so-secret service would be at my door. So I will just say death is too good for the ruling class in this once-great nation. Fuck em all!
