I Wish We Could Have a Lot More Like Congressman Andrews!

Resigning Congressman’s record: 0-646 « The Greenroom

Heck, not even the Chicago Cubs in their worst seasons had losing records like Rep. Rob Andrews (D-NJ), who abruptly resigned from his seat this week. In 23 years, Andrews proposed 646 bills. Guess how many went on to become law?

But all of Andrews’s bills had one thing in common.

They didn’t become law.

Only four of Andrews’s hundreds of bills have ever passed the House of Representatives. But none of them passed the Senate, so none made it to the president’s desk.

Heck, from my point of view, that makes him one of the best congressmen in history.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.
