World’s climate warming faster than feared, scientists say – Telegraph

As the planet marked its fourth hottest year on record, a study published in
the journal Nature found increasing levels of carbon dioxide will
lead to thinner ocean clouds and reduce their cooling impact, causing
temperature rises of at least 5.6F (3C) over the course of the century.

The team of scientists said the findings show some climate models have been
too “optimistic” and previous estimates of a minimum temperature rise of
only 2.7F (1.5C) could now be discounted. The optimistic models did not
properly assess the impact of water evaporation, which sometimes rises only
a short distance into the atmosphere and causes updraughts that reduce cloud
cover, the study found.

They’re horselaughing this out of the house over at WUWT:

Climate Craziness of the Week: only the ‘cooler’ models are wrong – the rest say 4ºC of warming by 2100 | Watts Up With That?

From the University of New South Wales and Dr. Steven Sherwood:

“Climate sceptics like to criticise climate models for getting things wrong, and we are the first to admit they are not perfect,” said Sherwood. “But what we are finding is that the mistakes are being made by the models which predict less warming, not those that predict more.”

Yeah…right:

Read the comments, which are scathing.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. Yeah, I had linked to that nonsense in an earlier thread over at Anthony Watt’s place. I’m glad that he posted it as a standalone.

Oh sure, it’s insanity wrapped in willful blindness, which is always good for a laugh, but the comments at the Guardian are mostly horrifying. I think you might have once said that if St. Louis were being ground to dust under a mile thick glacier, these nimrods would still be screaming about everyone burning up. Those people are a great example of that mindset. Hopefully they won’t bother to procreate, as the world has more than enough idiots right now.
