UPDATE: Okay, this quote was too good not to bring in: “Ms. Meinwald, the lawyer, said she was a lifelong Democrat who still supported better health care for all, but had she known what was in store for her, she would have voted for Mitt Romney. It is an uncomfortable position for many members of the creative classes to be in.”

Let me translate:

Ms. Meinwald, the lawyer, is a lifelong idiot who was shocked, shocked to discover that there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch, and enraged to learn that the lunch tab she supported was going to be on her.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. “Ms. Meinwald, the lawyer, said…had she known what was in store for her, she would have voted for Mitt Romney…”

…and would have almost certainly ended up getting just exactly what she got anyway, though possibly (or possibly not) a bit more slowly, and with rather more of a “bipartisan” twist to it.

For reference: Go talk to some of those folks in MASSHOLEchusetts about “RomneyCare” -

“…It is an uncomfortable position for many members of the creative classes to be in.”

Yeh, cry us a river about that “uncomfortable position” shit – then, maybe have a li’l chat with some of those folks out there in “flyover country” who’ve already found themselves in a rather “uncomfortable position” as well…one related to not having any more health insurance at all, courtesy of that clown you’ve just now decided shouldn’t have gotten your vote and your wholehearted support after all – ’cause, y’know, it’s actually gonna cost you some money, right?

Trust me on this one, sweetie, you’re not nearly as “uncomfortable” as you deserve to be.
