Somebody emailed me to take me to task for the idea of electing a Democrat over Boehner, a Republican. Their logic was banal – any Republican, even Boehner, would be better than any Democrat.
That’s not how I see it. I look at the proposition from a damage control point of view. How much will damage will two more years of Boehner and his gang of fellow Gentry Republicans, leading the House toward scamnesty, refusing to do anything about Obamacare except make it a political card without ever trying to actually destroy it, and waging non-stop war on the conservative and libertarian base, do as compared to ending all that and replacing it with a single nobody Democrat representative from a small congressional district in Pennsylvania?
For me, the choice is obvious.
And even better, the Democrat party will help us in our effots. They’d love to wave Boehner’s bloody scalp in front of their own base. Which bothers me not at all. With Boehner gone, maybe we could be looking at a Justin Amash, or, frabjous joy, a Michelle Bachmann speakership. I wonder how much the Dems would like that?
