Pursuing his desperate attempts to make people forget he’s a liar who specifically got elected on promises of never, ever, under any circumstances accepting any sort of amnesty which, as he defined it himself, was “any sort of path to citizenship.”
And then, safely elected on this lie, promptly turned around and pretended that he’d never said any such thing, going full bore supporting McShitstain/Grahamnesty in yet ANOTHER push for amnesty for felons.
As a result, it really doesn’t matter one tiny little iota of a shit what he says, because we already KNOW that his word is worth absolutely fuck all. If he can go from “any sort of path to citizenship is amnesty, no matter what they call it, and I’m against it” to “this particular path to citizenship that I endorse is absolutely NOT amnesty” in a matter of months, then just how bloody retarded do you have to be to ever trust a single word he says ever again?
There are a lot of retards in the GOP. I’m not one of them – the only interest I have in Rubio these days is who will be primarying him, and how I can contribute to their campaign, but there are a lot of so-called conservative masochists who will be looking to gobble up this particularly shitty sandwich on the grounds that he’s somehow “better” than the Democrat opposition.
Mind you, we are talking about Republicans who have won the popular vote in a presidential election only once since 1988; who are rapidly losing the confidence of the conservative base that gave the GOP the historic midterm victory in 2010; and whose current priorities include a mass legalization of (Democrat-leaning) illegal immigrants that would make it increasingly difficult for Republicans to win elections in the future.
Andy McCarthy nails the basic problem here: The RINO faction of the Ruling Party, who hated Ronald Reagan and began rejecting his policies as soon as he was out of office and George H.W. “Loser” Bush was safely in, have been utter failures at electoral politics, and their only response has been to double down on more of the same.
In the meantime the Republic crumbles into dust while the GOPigs jostle to stay at their trough, and power-dazzled “conservatives” like Marco Rubio (I like that Marcus Iscariot thing, Misha!) turn their coats into suicidal straitjackets immediately upon election.
If we can’t trust a loudly self-proclaimed Tea Party Conservative like Marco Rubio (and there is no way in hell we can ever trust him again), then how in the hell can we trust a party run by the likes of John McCain, Lindsey Graham, John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, the Bush Family, Karl Rove, and the scamnesty-pushing Wall Street Journal, Fox News, and the Chamber of Commerce?
The answer is that we can’t. So we either have to change the party, or change who runs it.
Take your pick.
