This article has been getting a lot of buzz, (Drach has a post elsewhere) especially for quotes like this:
“Of course, I want people to have health care,” Vinson said. “I just didn’t realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally.”
But I found something else quite interesting about it.
It appears in the San Jose Mercury News, the ultra-lib “voice of the South Bay,” ie, Silicon Valley, the hot, burning heart of upper-middle class Obama support.
Read the comments.
These counties went for Obama by well over 70% (on average) in 2012. This was an even slightly higher victory margin than Obama enjoyed in 2008. So one would expect that the comment section at this Murky-News article would be filled with righteous libs shouting down a few lonely, mocking conservative voices trying to enjoy their rare cup of schadenfruede.
The opinon was close to unanimous among commenters that Obamacare was a trainwreck, a disaster, a bloated, expensive craphole, and those who supported and voted for it were suicidal idiots who deserved what they were getting, good and hard. Even though I suspect that a high percentage of these commenters voted for, you know, Obama himself.
If the readers of the SJ Murky-News are near-unanimously up in arms about Obamacare, saner regions of the country must be ready to march on Washington and burn it to the ground.
Hey. Maybe it is good politics for the GOP to keep the government closed over the issue of implementing the Obamacare monstrosity?
Guess we’ll find out, won’t we?
