For advocates on both sides, the stakes in Tuesday’s elections were far bigger than the fates of two state politicians. As money and national attention poured into Colorado, a state of hunters that has been stained by two mass shootings, the races became a symbol of the nation’s bitter fight over gun control, with one side bolstered by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg of New York and the other by the National Rifle Association.
While both sides campaigned vigorously, knocking on doors, holding rallies and driving voters to the polls, gun-control advocates far outspent their opponents. A range of philanthropists, liberal political groups, unions and activists raised a total of $3 million to defend Mr. Morse and Ms. Giron. Mr. Bloomberg personally gave $350,000.
The ruling class, desperate to disarm American citizens, always outspends us. But they lose far more often than they win. And this statist hack Morse can blabber all he wants about how “great” the Colorado legislature was under his Senate leadership, but he’s been forcibly dragged away from the trough. Good riddance to both of them.
Now, just to keep the ball rolling, we need to make sure than any of those who voted against gun control at the national level, and who are therefore targeted by head gunner Bloomberg, win re-election.
These scum-and-moneybag progressive totalitarians need to get their asses and their wallets kicked every chance we get.
Congrats to Jeff Goldstein, Charlie Martin, Stephen Green, and my pal Kemp Coit, Coloradans all, who can hold their heads a bit higher after the crushing victories they won today.
