No, Christie Won’t Be the Next GOP Nominee

Fox News poll: Positive views of Christie jump, views of Clinton down | Fox News

Almost all of the improvement in Christie’s favorable number comes from an increase in positive views among Democrats (+31 points) and independents (+13 points).  Views among Republicans held steady (+1 point).

The poll finds 47 percent of Democrats have a favorable view of Christie.  That’s almost as high as his 49 percent favorable among Republicans.

Which should tell you all you need to know about Fat Boy.

He’ll run as a Democrat in Republican drag. But he’s going to have to get the GOP to nominate him first, and that just isn’t going to happen. I mean, why would a Republican vote for him? So he could join hands with Democrats to pass Democrat-favored legislation?

We have to be electing people for a reason. What reason would we elect Christie for? To increase gun controls, open borders, illegal immigration, and so on, and so forth?

The “pragmatists” who support candidates like Christie who would do nothing to stop the growth of the Leviathan State live in a dream world where government is eternal and impregnable. History teaches otherwise, and then there is the simple fact that what can’t go on, won’t.

Either we vote for, and elect, candidates who will try to fix our Leviathan problem, or we don’t. If we don’t, then the problem will continue to worsen, until the whole rickety structure of out state, feeding on its own entrails, eventually collapses.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.
