Welcome to Bush-Obama-Kafka America

Roger L. Simon » Living in Fear: Welcome to Fascist America

Still, I live in fear. And I don’t think I’m the only one. I think a lot of people do now, in various degrees. They want to think they don’t, but they do.

It’s not a terrified fear. I don’t cower under my desk. It’s a nagging fear, a trepidation. Something that never goes away.

Someone is watching me, monitoring whatever I do. If I make a mistake, I will pay for it. My future will be bleak.

Every liberal who every voted for Leviathan to help the children, every conservative who ever voted for Leviathan to stop the fags, every rational ignoramus who didn’t vote against the metastasizing of Leviathan, every RINO who “reached across the aisle” to Leviathan, every one of them bear crushing responsibility for the totalitarian, authoritarian, state fascism that now turns all our lives bleak and gray with fear.

We live in Kafka’s America now, where the unknown and unknowable workings at the belly of the beast can swallow any one of us in a moment.

Are you happy now?

UPDATE: Jeff Goldstein:

This is Kafka’s world, Orwell’s world, and we are the drones who must never be allowed to believe in the value of our own independence.

Jeff and I are on the same page, as is often the case.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.
