Night Stalker Dies Peacefully In His Sleep

‘Night Stalker’ Richard Ramirez dead of natural causes – latimes.com

Richard Ramirez, the “Night Stalker” serial killer convicted of killing 13 people, died of natural causes at 9:10 a.m. Friday at a Bay Area hospital, corrections officials confirmed.

A Los Angeles jury convicted Ramirez in the 13 killings that terrorized Southern California in the mid-1980s. He was sentenced to death and had been serving time on death row in San Quentin since 1989.

He was sentenced to die in 1985. 28 years later, he did die – of natural causes.

California, no matter what its laws say, has no death penalty.

My favorite part of his story is the following:

Ramirez’s killing rampage finally ended on Aug. 31, 1985, when he was captured and beaten by angry citizens in East Los Angeles after he tried to steal a woman’s car.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.
