The powerful gun lobbying group had stumbled in the immediate wake of December’s Newtown, Conn., grade-school massacre, launching a blistering attack on opponents that alienated even some NRA supporters and upped the odds of Obama moving tougher gun laws through Congress.
But three months later, the NRA has regained its footing, rallying gun owners and lawmakers against new gun controls in a fierce lobbying effort that appears to be paying dividends on Capitol Hill.
Actually, this is a lie – not a rare occurrence considering the source is Dem propaganda mill The Hill.
The NRA’s “stumble” (see The Hill’s own link), consisted of pointing out that armed guards in schools able to oppose maniacal shooters with deadly force, were possibly the most effective method of preventing such atrocities. As it turned out, the result of this supposed “stumble” was that 64% of Americans agreed with the NRA on that issue. Some “stumble.”
Now that the hysteria ginned up by the Dems has somewhat died down, despite hack propaganda spewing from rags like The HillI, folks are taking a long, hard look at the illogical, irrational, and ineffective proposals to grab various sorts of ugly guns and ugly magazine, as well as to institute a regimen of universal firearms registration which many rightly fear is only a prelude to further efforts at gun bans and confiscations.
These people are voting with their feet and their wallets as they proceed to strip gun sellers of just about everything they have in stock, are joining and contributing to the NRA and other gun rights groups in record numbers, and leading campaigns of outright defiance of state level gun grabs.
The Hill and other nests of leftist hackery don’t much like this, so they are lying about it. Because dishonesty is really all they have left. They’ve figured out they’re probably going to take a whipping this time around, despite having convinced themselves, against all legitimate evidence, that this time they could really, really, really get an effective gun ban instituted in America, in defiance of the constitution, liberty, and the will of the people themselves.
So now they’re going to try to blame the so-called “gun lobby,” in the face of the fact that that “lobby” would be powerless without the support of millions and millions of Americans who agree with it.
Good luck with that, fucktards.
