Gov. Walker: Call Obama’s ‘bluff’ on sequester – The Hill’s Video

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) on Monday urged lawmakers to call the president’s “bluff” and empower the White House to make targeted spending cuts to avoid sequestration.

I thought Gov. Walker was supposed to be a smart guy.

Apparently not. Obama would simply make only cuts that would result in the most painful inconveniences for the general public he could come up with, then blame all the misery on the Republicans – and the MSM would back him up one hundred percent.  In other words, he would cut cops, TSA thugs, and edu money, but not one single useless bureaucrat whose exit absolutely nobody would notice.

Listen up, Governor, here’s your strategy: STFU, block any compromise, and let the across the board sequester take effect. The Democrats fear that, because the effects will be impossible to discern, and reveal all the lefty hysteria as the huge lie that it was.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. Huh…. Good thing I’m not president. If I were I’d look at what each bureaucracy spent last year and cut their budget 5%, IF I didn’t eleiminate it altogether. I don’t care if you cut pay or lay people off, this is what you get to operate this year. If this doesn’t balance the budget, we’ll do it again next year until it does. If you don’t like it, sit on this.

I expect I’d be very popular.

This kabuki they’re doing now won’t balance anything in my lifetime. Anyone doubt that?

  2. The real problem here is that while defense spending is around 15-18% of the budget, it’s on the block for 50% of those cuts.
Which I suppose as far as the won and the democrap party is concerned is a feature not a bug…
