COLMAN MCCARTHY: Now that Don’t-Ask-Don’t-Tell Has Been Repealed, Here’s Another Excuse For Keeping ROTC Off Campus. “ROTC and its warrior ethic taint the intellectual purity of a school.”

DADT as the reason for ROTC’s banning was always a sham. Now the mask is finally off. The elite professoriat doesn’t hate ROTC because of DADT, they hate ROTC because they just can’t stand “the warrior ethic”. That’s code for courage, honor, and duty, ethics all anathema to Leftist indoctrinators. They prefer us supine, afraid, and dependent on them.

The US military can’t possibly be a hundredth as uncomfortable with gays as the Left is uncomfortable with the American soldier.

  1. Frankly, I am heartened by McCarthy’s instinctive reaction to keep the nasty ROTC as far away as possible from the intellectual purity of his hothouse campus. When scum like him start talking about letting ROTC back into his immaculate ivory tower, it means that he’s thought of a way for leftypigs to infiltrate and corrupt the military.

  3. “ROTC and its warrior ethic taint the intellectual purity of a school.”

You know, if you remove that first acronym and the 3 words following, you get the author’s real meaning of this sentence. (And no it’s not quite grammatical, but neither is he.)

  4. “…the intellectual purity of a school.”

Subsequent to, perhaps, the late-1960s, “intellectual purity” as a characteristic of American colleges and universities has been similar to Michael Moore’s intellectual honesty and Barack Obama’s intellectual brilliance – i.e., a legendary but almost entirely mythical thing.

Mental midgets like Colman McCarthy, of course, fail to understand this, thus being unable to fathom that “ROTC and its warrior ethic” cannot possibly “taint” what does not in reality exist.

In point of fact, American schools would do well to acquire a bit of that “warrior ethic” – it would serve to measurably improve their campus atmospheres.

“…schools have small claims to greatness so long as the study of peace is not equal to the other departments when it comes to size and funding.”

“If you wish for peace, prepare for war” – a far older, and immeasurably truer, principle than any of McCarthy’s prating.
