Right Wing Nut House » IF ELECTED, OBAMA WILL BE MY PRESIDENT

You can talk about “voter fraud” and “stealing elections” all you want but the fact remains that if Obama is certified by the electoral college and the House of Representatives as President of the United States, that ends the discussion in our republic. There is no more important aspect of democracy than the minority accepting the will of the majority. The constitution gives the minority certain protections against getting steamrolled by the majority. But it doesn’t give the minority the right to torpedo the legitimacy of the winner.

You’re missing the point, Nut House. Of course Obama is the legally elected President of the US. But does he represent me? No, of course he doesn’t. I won’t be voting for him, and I won’t be supporting any of his programs or initiatives. Moreover, I will be waging open war against his policies and his party, in hopes of seeing his party destroyed, and his presidency equally savaged.

Don’t confuse “legitimacy” with support. Obama will be the legitimate President. But does that mean I support him in almost all of his policies and intentions? Absolutely not.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

  1. …it doesn’t give the minority the right to torpedo the legitimacy of the winner.

Yer talkin’ to the wrong audience, Booby Hatch – go have a chat with the dingalings who, to this day will try to read you chapter and verse about how the Eeevil Bush-Rove Vote-Fraud Conspiracy stole the 2000 and 2004 elections, and how G.W.Bush isn’t really the legitimate POTUS, and hasn’t been for eight years.

Let us know how that turns out for ya…

(From the linked column): …the idea that after 8 years the left could never get over the results and indeed, showed a derangement toward the president even after a still close but decisive win in 2004 proves that it is up to us on the right to bring our politics back to a rough equilibrium…(emphasis mine)

Bzzzt!! Wrong conclusion – all it “proves” is that, so far as the left is concerned, it ain’t over ’till they get their preferred result…

(He goes on)…so that we can work together in these perilous times.(emphasis mine)

Lots of luck with that one, too, Booby – if there’d been any real interest in “working together” on the part of the Demonrat Left anytime in the past several decades, these would quite possibly be considerably less “perilous times” – what is it that makes you think, now that they’re about to get what they’ve been working so hard for (basically, control of everything) that they’re going to have even a passing interest in “working together” with you or anyone else? And exactly why is it that you think any declaration on your part (or by anyone else the left sees as being on the other side) of “elected legitimacy” or lack thereof of The Chosen One means diddley-shit to them?

Your declaration of “elective legitimacy” plus twenty bucks will get you a crappy cuppa joe and a day-old cruller at Starbucks, as long as you stand in line and don’t tip too heavy.

  2. Of course Obama is the legally elected President of the US.

Legally elected? What color is the sky on your planet? Illegal campaign contributions from foreign sources, and ACORN registered fake voters aided and abetted by Democratic Secretaries of State (Ohio, anyone?)and Democratic appointed judges means that legally elected and Obama shouldn’t be used in the same sentence.

    Legally elected my *ss.

  3. On the plus side, over at the NutSite, the comments are running roughly 60 or 75 to 1 against the linked post – I traded a few remarks with the ed., but he was missing the point time after time, so I gave it up as a waste of my time and his bandwidth…

He’s apparently busy trying to be honorable and noble – as if Obama & Co. are likely to give a picked nit about that

As stated before, either way it goes, it’s likely to be a very ugly four years…
