Have the Deciders Decided? Examining the Post-Debate Examinations : The Other McCain

Permit me to suggest that Jacobson’s pro-Newt sentiments color his perceptions in much the way that my pro-Santorum sentiments color my own. Was Santorum “harsh”? I didn’t see that. What I saw (and anyone may check the video on this) was that Santorum smiled a lot.

I like Newt a good bit, and I don’t much like Saint Satan Santorum very much at all. However, I’d vote for either against Obama, although admittedly with a great deal of reluctance vis SSS. That said, I did think the debate was fairly combative as regards Mittens and the Saint, to the point that when they were going at it hammer and tongs, I looked up at the screen (I tend to watch these things as background to doing something else) and thought – jeez. They’re really slugging it out.

I didn’t think Santorum came across as any harsher than Romney, though. He did come across as sort of an idiot, though, on the contraceptive issue, when he laid this smelly egg (paraphrased): I hate children having babies, and children raising children, and so I oppose contraceptives!

Despite all the promises that everybody will go on to the convention, I’m guessing that the thing will be all over within the next three weeks or so. And I’m gloomily convinced that the Stupid Party will find a way to select the one candidate that I can’t vote for under any circumstances.
