“Top Republican at CPAC: Jeb Bush could emerge as nominee at a brokered convention”
Jeb Bush, former Florida governor and younger brother of President George W. Bush, has repeatedly said he will not run in 2012. He is one of a number of senior figures who disappointed activists and party officials alike by staying on the sidelines.
Suggesting to me that Mr Cardenas has no idea what’s happening inside the conservative movement as it exists outside of the GOP media cheerleading squads, and that he has no conception of what a Jeb Bush or Chris Christie or Mike Huckabee candidacy would do to finally shovel that last scoop of dirt atop an already moribund Republican party.
Exactly. If he thinks that “activists” are disappointed at the failure of Romney to close the deal, and that they wanted Bush Three instead, a mere three years after the departure of Bush Two, who destroyed the GOP brand and paved the way for Barack Obama, then he’s smoking some really fine illegally imported Cuban stogies.
Personally, I’m fine with Santorum, and can even get behind Newt if it comes to it. If I’m given Jeb Bush to vote for, I might seriously consider voting for Obama in protest. Just get it over with so we can maybe begin again fresh.
I couldn’t go quite that far, but I would definitely be voting Libertarian in the fall.
A brokered deal for anyone, including Sarah, not currently in the top three would
mean President for Lifedefinitely assure four more years of Obambi.I dunno, genes. If a brokered convention gave us a Palin/Jindal ticket, I’d be thrilled. Hell, just about any conservative ticket, as long as Mittens gets grounded out and the Bush Dynasty ends up sucking eggs. The primary process has been a fucking joke. In Virginia, the Stupid Party rigged the process so that my choice is Romney or Paul. Nothing would make me happier at this point than a brokered convention pushed by a TEA party/conservative coalition.
The problem with a brokered con (yes, I did that deliberately) is that with those super delegates, or whatever they’re called, the Gentry GOP would probably have the upper hand in the selection process – which means no snowbilly sluts or dot-headed fascist racist sellouts need apply.
I can say with a fair mount of certainty that the people pushing hardest for a brokered con right now wouldn’t be doing so if they didn’t think they’d be doing the brokering.
