The Second Amendment Returns to Walmart

More Evidence We’re Winning | Shall Not Be Questioned

Wal-Mart is bringing guns and ammo back to many stores. Sales are up, and Wal-Mart is in the business of making money. But remember, the US gun industry is in decline, and they could prove it too if they just had access to all this information NSSF and NRA aren’t hiding.

UPDATE: ARs in Wal-Mart too.

On the one hand, good news. On the other hand, Americans fear that Obama and the Democrats want to take their guns. Which is good news in that they’ve figured this out, but bad news insofar as it is the truth.

About Bill Quick

I am a small-l libertarian with conservative leanings on most issues, except on many traditionally conservative social issues, where my stance would be regarded as hopelessly liberal by most social conservatives. My primary concern is to increase individual liberty as much as possible in the face of statist efforts to restrict it from both the right and the left. If I had to sum up my beliefs as concisely as possible, I would say, "Stay out of my wallet and my bedroom," "your liberty stops at my nose," and "don't tread on me." I will believe that things are taking a turn for the better in America when married gays are able to, and do, maintain large arsenals of automatic weapons, and tax collectors are, and do, not.

The Time article is full of misconceptions. Walmart withdrew sales of handguns at its stores, but in many states – especially in the South – continued with sales of long guns and ammo. In Virginia, for instance, Walmart never stopped selling long guns. Got a fantastic deal on a Mossberg 500 there about a year ago.

Walmart is still terrified of re-entering the hand gun market. That’s their choice, of course. But saying that Walmart expanding its sales of long guns as “evidence that we’re winning” is kinda specious. Winning is happening at gun shops.

I didn’t realize that WallyWorld had ever stopped selling guns. They never pulled them from the local Huntsville store.

You might not know this, but Wal-Mart breaks down their stores into various classes. If your store is classed as an ‘urban’ store, you probably won’t see guns, or camping equipment, etc.

The nice thing about buying a gun at Wal-Mart is that they carry it out to your car for you (you let just one goomer buy a pistol and ammo then load the pistol and shoot someone and all hell breaks loose and everyone in the future gets their gun carried out for them)…I wait until last, so they get to carry a bunch of stuff out.

    I keed. I don’t buy guns from Wal-Mart.
