The DNC/Obama MSM spin on this matter is becoming obvious: They are emphasizing that Republicans also make recess appointments, and, in fact, the hated George Bush made quite a few of them – as if the issue were making recess appointments themselves.
But, as Mark Levin and many others pointed out yesterday, that isn’t the issue. The issue is that the Senate has not been in recess, and so the President cannot make recess appointments.
This principle, in effect for decades (FDR – natch – violated it) was reaffirmed most recently by the sleazebag liar in charge of the Senate, Democrat Majority Leader Harry Reid, when he kept the Senate from recessing in order to prevent George Bush from making any more recess appointments.
This is not being mentioned. The whole issue is framed as: Why are the Republicans complaining about Obama’s recess apointments, when they made them too (including the sainted Reagan)? Oh, and by the way, that Cordray guy? He’s a saint!
